DRUMSCAPES

Master Drummer David Jones is often described as one of the most innovative and musical drummers in the world, a true virtuoso.

He is a frequent guest artist and soloist with Australian and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras, Hong Kong and Japan.

Toshi Watanabe composed a Drumkit concerto for David – which premiered in Japan in 2006.

A second concerto, by Joe Chindamo, was commissioned by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, with World Premiere in March 2018, Sir Andrew Davis conducting.

Professional since 1975, David performs and records with great Australian and international artists across all genres.

He has won numerous awards including the Melbourne Prize for Music (2010).

Globally, David has presented his original solo drumkit concerts since 2005.

Master Drummer David Jones presents a solo concert experience.
Using his extensive drum kit, percussion and electronic wavedrum and effects, David promises a mesmerising and animated journey through rhythms inspired by his everyday life.

Drumscapes is a celebration of music David hears in the environment – in the hum of machines that define his city life, and in the clink of a teaspoon stirring his morning coffee.
From the sounds of a fluttering butterfly to a roaring locomotive, David’s landscape of rhythms and effects will have you entranced one minute, body-drumming the next.
