How useful would this knowledge be for musicians in general not just drummers and percussionists?

In this workshop Ray will look at these and other questions related to traditional styles of drumming and their application to more contemporary music forms.

Ray will elaborate on his ideas on African polyrhythmic cycles and how they should be heard and felt in order to be played most effectively.

The workshop will start with a performance from The Afro Lankan Drumming system featuring Ray and Sri Lankan Drummer Kanchana Karunaratne.

The session will be aimed at musicians in general not just percussionists.
