The humble flowerpot is an incredibly beautiful instrument that can be played by anyone, no matter their level of musical training. Flower Pot Music by Elliot Cole celebrates this fact by bringing together people from all walks of life to perform the music together outdoors. This September, you are invited to join ensemble leader Thea Rossen in a special Boom Festival edition of the piece where you will learn a series of musical patterns and games and when played by a large group result in a joyful sound. No sheet music, just pure connection through the music of flowerpots! Participants will need to BYO flowerpot and I will spend 1 hour teaching them the piece, we will then take a short break and then perform the work for around 20-30mins outdoors at WAAPA.
